Section 20 Fire Company
Dress Uniform
Guideline
1. Fire Company Members are strongly encouraged to have a dress uniform for formal Fire Company functions such as: Fireman funerals, Fire prevention activities, parades, etc. Dress uniforms promote professionalism within the organization and should display uniformity among the Fire Company Members HOWEVER; it is not a requirement for Members to have one.
2. Fire Company Members who wish to have a dress uniform are REQUIRED to purchase it out of their own expense. NO Fire Company funds will be used to purchase dress uniforms for members unless a bulk order is done and the Fire Company members reimburse the fire Company with in 30 days of delivery.
3. Only uniforms outlined in this guideline will be permitted, NO EXCEPTIONS. In the event that a Fire Company Member wishes to purchase a dress uniform, he or she will comply with the standards listed in this guideline.
4. DRESS UNIFORM SHIRT- will consist of a Southwestern brand light blue shirt with light blue colored epaulets and pocket flaps. Chief Officer's dress uniform shirts will consist of a white colored Southwestern brand shirt with white colored epaulets and pocket flaps.
5. DRESS UNIFORM PANTS - will consist of plain navy blue colored trousers similar to the Dickies brand work pants.
6. DRESS UNIFORM TIE - will consist of a plain navy blue colored tie with a Velcro or clip on fastener.
7. DRESS UNIFORM SOCKS - will consist of plain navy blue colored socks.
8. DRESS UNIFORM SHOES - will consist of black colored boots or dress shoes.
9. DRESS UNIFORM NAMEPLATE - will consist of a chrome-colored nameplate with a red colored fire scramble seal affixed to the nameplate. The nameplate should display the Members full name. Two line nameplates are permitted, which displays the Members full name at the top and rank below. Chief officers shall have gold colored nameplates, which comply with the above-mentioned requirements. All nameplates SHALL be worn above the right breast pocket.
10. DRESS UNIFORM BADGE - will consist of Blackington brand badge, which is chrome in color. It shall display the rank of the Member at the top of the badge and shall display the Upper Leacock Fire Company underneath the rank. The badge shall have a blue colored center displaying the fire scramble seal EXCEPT for Line Officers. Line Officers shall display a blue colored center with a trumpet for the ranking position they hold. The Fire Company Captain is permitted to have a badge that is two-tone chrome and gold in color. Chief Officers shall have gold colored badges. All badges SHALL be worn above the left breast pocket.
11. DRESS UNIFORM HATS - will consist of a navy blue colored Sentry brand bell top hat. All uniform hats shall display a chrome colored hat badge that has a blue colored center displaying the fire scramble seal in it. Line Officers shall have a chrome hat badge that has a blue colored center with a trumpet displayed for their ranking position. Chief Officers shall have a white colored Sentry brand bell top hat with a gold colored hat badge with a blue center and trumpet displayed for their ranking position
12. DRESS UNIFORM PATCHES - will consist of the Fire Company patch that is of the design located on the front outside cover of this manual and a right arm style American Flag patch SHALL be sewn two inches down from the shoulder on the left sleeve. The right arm style American Flag patch SHALL be sewn two inches down from the shoulder of the right arm. NO OTHER PATCHES ARE PERMITTED TO BE SEEN ON THE UNIFORM SHIRTS. NO OTHER PINS OR BADGES ARE PERMITTED TO BE DISPLAYED ON THE FIRE COMPANY DRESS UNIFORM
13. DRESS UNIFORM COLLAR PINS - Line Officers are permitted to wear collar pins that display a trumpet of the ranking position that each Line Officer holds. All collar pins should be chrome in color except for Chief officers, which shall be gold in color.
14. DRESS UNIFORM PURCHASE INFO - Fire Company dress uniforms can be purchased at PRO LOOK Uniforms, 429 Rohrerstown Road, Lancaster PA. They are located across from the Rohrerstown Fire Company. 15. Although Fire Company dress uniforms may be required during special events, NO MEMBER may be denied participation in those events for not having and wearing a Fire Company dress uniform
16. The Deputy Chief or Officer in Charge shall notify Fire Company Members participating in a special event if the Fire Company dress uniforms are required. Notifications SHALL be posted on the sign up sheet for the special event.
17. EMT pants are NOT PERMITTED to be worn in conjunction with the Fire Company dress uniform shirt for formal Fire Company events.
18. EMT pants and Fire Company T-shirts MAY be worn during a non-formal special event such as: Housing parades, Fundraisers, Stand by's, Certain Fire prevention details, Training events, etc. The Deputy Chief or Officer in Charge SHALL post notification anytime that this type of dress style is permitted to be worn during a non-formal Fire Company function. Notifications SHALL be posted on the sign up sheet for special events. NO Member can be denied participation in special event if they do not have EMT pants and a Fire Company T- shirt when it's required.
19. Fire Company Members are REQUIRED to reimburse the Fire Company with in 30 days in the event that Fire Company funds were used to purchase dress uniforms, badges, nameplates, hats, EMT pants, Fire Company jackets, T-shirts, etc. as a bulk purchase order for the Fire Company Members. Items ordered must be picked up at the Fire Station with in 40 days of delivery and payment is due upon pickup. NO EXCEPTIONS
20. Fire Company Members who fail to pick up orders with in 30 days or pay for items ordered in which Fire Company Funds were used will be REQUIRED to prepay ALL future orders.
21. Fire Company Dress Uniforms SHALL be in a clean and orderly fashion when being worn by a Fire Company Member during a formal Fire Company function. EMT pants and Fire Company T-shirts SHALL also be in a clean and orderly fashion when being worn by Fire Company Members during a non-formal Fire Company function.
22. All Fire Company Members shall be groomed during formal Fire Company Functions
23. Fire Company Members are NOT permitted to wear any obscene or inappropriate attire while they are participating in a Fire Company function
24. Fire Company Members shall wear a black-colored mourning band over their Fire Company badge during a Fireman's funeral in respect of a fallen comrade.
