November 1, 2006 Monthly Meeting
The meeting was called to order by President Harold Hoover at 1930 hours. There was a pledge to the flag and roll call of officers – 11 present.
The October 2006 minutes were read and approved.
Report of vice-presidents – Levi Freeburn – nothing
Julie Erdman - 20 members
Trustees – The set-back thermostats will be installed on November 3, 2006 in the engine bays.
Secretary – Correspondence for the month was read.
REPORT OF COMMITTEES:
Alerting – Three microphones will be ordered for portable radios.
Ways and Means – Help is needed for Saturday sales of raw sauerkraut. Sign-up sheet will be on the bulletin board.
War Memorial – The painting of the back of the building has been completed.
Zone 3 -- Next meeting Monday, November 13, 2006, at Goodville.
Sign & Floor – The inspector and Visual Signs are still discussing the level of detail needed from drawings.
REPORT OF OPERATIONS:
Engineer – Both engines had pump service. The re-compressor on the Air truck should be repaired shortly. Generators on the apparatus will be serviced shortly.
Fire Chief – 13 incidents for October 2006.
County Chiefs will be voting on a helmet color standard and a port-a- tank standard at their next meeting. The helmet colors are the same as ours except junior fire fighters would get orange helmets.
There will be fire extinguisher training at the Hildebrandt Learning Center on Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at 1815 hours.
There is additional budget money remaining, so an additional computer will be purchased for the second engine.
The new radio system will not be going into service for about 18 months due to performance issues.
Elections – The following business offices were open for 2007. The persons elected are listed in bold. The Secretary cast the ballot for non-competitive offices.
